HOT STONE MASSAGE

Happy Thursday Medistars :)!

What do you know about hot stone massages? Today’s blog will be about where the massage originated, it’s benefits, what technique we use…After reading this blog, the first thing you will want to do its try one!!!

This massage combines a traditional therapeutic massage with the placement of volcanic stones of varying temperatures on the body, to facilitate the flow of vital energy and to alleviate emotional and physical troubles.

Although the massage has only gained popularity in the last few years, it’s origins can be traced right back to an ancient oriental massage technique inspired in the disciplines, like reiki where it’s believed that there are seven energy centres in our body called  ‘chakras‘, and through these the universes energy flows. According to these disciplines, if we feel unwell, it’s because the energy is not flowing through our body correctly, there is a blockage or one of our chakras is not working correctly. Hot Stone Massage allows the combination of therapeutic massage and the placement of the stones on the chakras to allow the energy to flow correctly and alleviate our discomfort. Some stones that are used are of a volcanic origin, so as well as helping the flow of our energy, our organism will also receive energy from the earth.

This massage is not only of orient origin, it was also used by native Australians and Americans, who, through the use of saunas, combined the use of the stones with that of aromatic plants.

This is one of the most spiritual and relevant massages available at Medispa Javea. It will take you to another world, you will feel your whole body flowing with energy and relaxation.

Benefits:

Pain relief and reduction by means of the pressure applied to pain receptors.
Elimination of the skins toxins by means of persperation, due to the stones being heated to 50ºC.
Improvement of circulatory system, thanks to the difference in temperature of the stones and the massage, activating our blood circulation.
Soon we will have another blog post with more tips and information 😀
Thank You for reading our blog and we hope you enjoy the rest of the week Medistars.
