In Medispa Javea we also celebrate International Women’s Day, formerly called the Working Women’s Day, commemorating the struggle of women for their participation, for equality with men, in society and in their integral development as a person.
As an example we are going to put our favorite three major references:
Frida Kahlo
One of the first painters who expressed female identity in her work from her own point of view, rejecting the vision of the feminine that was drawn from the traditional masculine world. She was one of those who contributed to the formation of a new type of identity for women and is recognized, today, by many as a symbol. Frida Kahlo was the perfect feminist heroine of the 80s.
Katherine Johnson
She was the first African-American woman to end segregation at West Virginia University in Morgantown. She was one of three African-American students, and the only woman, selected to pursue post-graduate studies after the Supreme Court of the United States.
Amelia Earhart
The first woman to cross the Atlantic by plane: June 18, 1928. Amelia Earhart is one of the best-known aviators, thanks to her flight marks and her tragic death in the waters of the Pacific Ocean.
Amelia regularly sent letters to George, her husband, and in one of them she wrote: “Please know that I am aware of the dangers, I do it because I want to. Women should try to do things as men have done. When they failed their attempts they must be a challenge for others».
Sirimavo Bandaranaike
A policy of Sri Lanka. In 1960, she became notorious as the first woman in the world to assume the position of prime minister of a country.
She died as prime minister, after having gone to vote on the day of national elections.
Finally congratulate all those women who fight every day, work and love, those who have the courage to dare to change, those who achieve peace, justice and equality. Those that forge dreams and illusions and cultivate lives …
Happy day !
