Hello Medistars!!
The good weather has finally arrived, and it’s time to hit the beach and the pool…The only problem is that every time we sunbathe we are putting our skin in danger, so this blog post is about the importance of protecting ourselves!
Why use suncream?
It protects the skin from sunburn and ultraviolet radiation which damages the skin and can cause skin cancer.
How do you apply suncream?
- Every single person should use suncream (from 6 months old onwards), no matter what skin type you have, because all skin types need protection from ultraviolet radiation.
- Use alot of product. The recommended amount to use is one ounce. Apply the product every two hours, and after swimming or exercising.
- Apply suncream on all parts of the skin that are exposed to the sun, including the tops of the ears, the lips, the back of the neck and the feet.
- Indirect sun exposure can also be dangerous, so it’s important that our skin is always protected and hydrated.
Do all skin types need the same amount of protection?
All skin needs protection, but paler skin has less melanin and needs more protection than tanned skin.
Something very important regarding sun protection is that the SPF is the amount of time that we are protected from the suns rays, and it’s not the factor.
Here are some products we sell at Medispa Javea that contain an SPF:
K-ceutic SPF 50
Sun-ceutic SPF 50
Absolute eye cream SPF 15
Multi perfecting skin tint SPF 15 (with colour)
